Money Is Always The Issue

I was lectured by two of my older friends yesterday night. One is in his early 30's and the other, in his late 20's. We were having supper at the 24-hours coffeeshop down the street and they were telling how I'm still young and it's a good idea to make choices for my future life right about now.

What kind of life do you want to live by in the future? Do you want to have a normal average Singaporean life? From education to having a work experience to having a family and to retirement? Well technically in short, do you want to be a government slave?

It sounds like a nice plan, right? It's like everything has been properly layed out for you to follow. Well that's what I think too. Get a good job, make money.

But when my friends intervened my thoughts, all the downside of that plan just flowed into my mind. Let's say that I have a vehicle in the future. I need to set aside money for the vehicle. Then when I get married with kids, I need to set aside some for the wedding, the house, the bills, the food, the parents, the parents-in-law, the wife, the kids, the future savings, personal expense... Wah. I think I need more than $5000 per month. It's gonna be a scary future and I just hope I can pull through.

What my friends suggested me to do is to live life to the fullest. Be richer without being under a boss. Start and manage your own business. It'll be a risk but having risks while you're still young will only make you more experienced, making you more confident in succeeding with your businesses in the future.

But I told them, what business should I run?
